Biography of Robin Weeks
Robin Weeks is more than a coach – she is a mentor, guide and a seasoned professional who brings to her coaching practice the experience of training, business management, international product development and outdoor adventure learning. The foundation of her practice is that we are self limiting individuals and can clear those underlying thoughts to create forward movement and progress.
Her coaching practice is based on the philosophy that we all “can” – when we are empowered and provided with the right support. This viewpoint is the core to Robin’s highly customized coaching practice whether you are a corporate executive struggling with work and life balance, an entrepreneur needing more focus, or an individual ready to take your career to the next level. In all of these and more, Robin has not only first hand experience, but the tools and commitment to help you attain them!
Robin spent many years in the corporate retail industry in store management, buying and product development. Her years in retailing provided her with the foundation of strong presentation skills, training, business management for multimillion dollar budgets, and working overseas with manufacturers.
She took these skills and translated them into the non-profit sector, running a regional art gallery, working with artists who wanted to turn their hobbies into businesses. She developed a seminar series to provide artists with the “how to” of business plans, product development and gallery relationships.
Continuing to reach for her own next levels of excellence, Robin went back to school at the age of 30, and then found a new passion for rock climbing, becoming an instructor at the age of 37. Her passion was for working with adults and helping them to see that “getting off the ground” was possible! Subsequently she became an operating partner in a startup business that launched her work in the field of outdoor experiential learning and training.
For six years she was the Programs Director for Outward Bound Professional in North Carolina. She worked with clients such as Microsoft, American Leadership Forum, Wachovia Bank, Leadership Charlotte, and many more designing and developing both team and leadership focused programs.
She continues this work with a passion for leadership development and designing programs for corporate clients. She is a certified Big Five consultant and corporate facilitator. Her coaching practice is a culmination of her training, business, facilitation skills and experience. She is an expert at listening to her clients, promoting possibility, collaboration and exploration.
Robin has a BA from Davidson College, has completed many courses from the American Management Association, graduate work in Organizational Communication from Queen’s University in Charlotte, NC, and a volunteer facilitator for America Speaks. She has lived and traveled extensively abroad in places such as Egypt and both Eastern and Western Europe.
